Crystal graduated from Emory University NP program in 1993 but began her career in 1980 as an LPN working for Fort Logan Hospital and also as Dr. Bates office nurse. His devotion and dedication to this community inspired Crystal to complete her nursing degree. As an RN she worked in many fields and then Dr. Miller brought Obstetrics back to Fort Logan! Crystal is proud to say she was part of this first team for over ten years! This team opened Kentucky’s first LDRP obstetric suite, now standard in all obstetric hospitals!
Crystal also worked part-time at the Lincoln health department where she was introduced to the nurse practitioner role. Crystal then expanded her advanced Women’s Health knowledge by working with an OB/GYN group in Danville for over 16 years, Lexington Women’s Care for 4 years, Bluegrass Clinic for 8 years, EMRMC, and now with Bates, Miller & Sims for just over three years.
She is married to Sam. They have two grown children (Nick and Misti) and six grandkids (Molly, Sydney, Sean, Ethan, Ava, and Hance all Lincoln County residents). Crystal desires to provide the same dedication and devotion to women’s health as those who inspired her career!
